The Federal Government is under significant pressure from its backbench to give aluminium⁴ producers a full exemption⁶ from the cost associated with the renewable energy target. Rescue workers are trying to free scores of people trapped under a collapsed⁸ building in southern India. At least 11 people have died and dozens of others have been pulled alive from the rubble⁹. A 12-storey-building was under construction in Kani when it collapsed in heavy rain.
