Authorities in Nepal say some Australians remain unaccounted for after deadly snowstorms on a popular tourist track. Two Australians were among more than 30 people rescued yesterday. At least, 39 people are known to have died since the storms hit late last week.
 
Prime Minister Tony Abbott is in Jakarta for today's inauguration3 of Indonesia's new president. Joko Widodo will take over from Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who'd been in the job since 2004. Thousands of people, including Indonesia's political elites4 and international leaders will attend the swearing-in ceremony. 
 
An inquest will begin today into the death of 11-year-old Luke Batty who was killed by his father southeast of Melbourne earlier this year. The schoolboy was murdered by Greg Anderson at cricket practice in Tyabb in February. Anderson was shot by police and later died.
