Leading the news, a Brisbane man is in a serious condition in hospital this morning after he was shot by police during a domestic dispute overnight. Police say the man in his 40s was shot several times when he allegedly ran to them with a saw at a house in Ashgrove in the city’s north. Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce says he expects other banks to follow the ANZ’s lead to offer some relief to drought-affected farmers. The ANZ has agreed to hold off repossessing farms in parts of New South Wales and Queensland for the next 12 months.
And the dark comedy Birdman has topped the list of
nominations6 of the Golden Globes. The film which stars Michael Keaton as a washed-up film star tried to revive his career has bagged seven nominations. On the small screen, Fargo came out on top with five nominations.
