　　Official data show that over 5,000 armed forces have been deployed² to guarantee the safety of the Summit.

　　The Summit's convention center and accommodation hotels are equipped with scanners and radio-active material detectors³ made in China.

　　"NucTech is proud to be the provider of these securities accessories for such an event that convenes⁴ over 30 heads of state, including U.S. President Barack Obama and his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro," said Zhao Liang, the manufacturer's regional head.

　　The police force is equipped with hand-held explosives detectors made by NucTech.

　　Also, 30 sets of X-ray image-gathering facilities have been installed at the convention sites and the hotels where the heads of state would be accommodated, while two more would be used for mobile operations and two sets of radio-active material detectors were adopted for national banquets, according to Zhao.

　　"It has been the second time that NucTech participated in the security work of large-scale events in overseas countries after the World Cup," said Zhao Liang.

　　NucTech won the right via bidding to provide Brazil with hundreds of scanners to equip nine stadiums of the World Cup tournaments held there last year.

　　NucTech, a Chinese company originating from the elite⁵ Tsinghua University, which is specialized⁶ in development and production of security devices, has fitted out customs and port officers with high-tech⁷ equipment for container scanning and other security checks since it entered the Panama market in 2008. The company's products have been sold to more than 100 countries, including the United States, Russia and some European Union nations.
