A Chinese woman living in South Korea has tested positive for the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome1, or MERS virus.
The 64 year-old woman is the first Chinese national to be diagnosed with the infection. According to China's National Health and Family Planning Commission, the patient had come into close contact with a confirmed MERS patient at the South Korean hospital where she works. She is now in an isolation2 ward3 undergoing treatment.
