A report about 20 cities with the worst air quality in the world has got China talking this week.

What's interesting about it is that not a single polluted Chinese city appeared on the list according to the report, which is said to be based on WHO's urban air quality database¹ covering 1600 cities across 91 countries.

It turned out that the database is real, but the ranking is not scientific or credible².

Did people believe the ranking at all?
