Officials in South Carolina are trying to find options to protect the capital city's main water source after torrential downpours caused a canal to collapse1. The National Guard delivered sandbags on Wednesday to dam the breached2 canal in the City of Columbia.

Secretary of State John Kerry met with the president of Germany to celebrate the arrrival of a segment of Berlin Wall in Washington. The segment will be put on display at the US Diplomacy4 Center.
