Investigators¹ in Illinois say a police officer whose fatal shooting triggered a massive manhunt committed suicide. Police say the officer carefully staged his death because he was about to be exposed as a thief.

The British government said on Wednesday that it is increasingly concerned that the Russian jet that crashed on Saturday was brought down by a bomb. They said they are suspending flights to and from Egypt's Sinai Peninsula as a security precaution.

Northern Arizona is getting an early taste of winter weather. Snow was falling in parts of Flagstaff on Wednesday. Forecasters say snow showers in the area will increase through Wednesday evening.
