From NPR news in Washington. I'm Louise Schiavone. Actor comedian1 Bill Cosby was arraigned2 outside of Philadelphia today on charges of sexual assault with bail3 set at 1million dollars. WHYY's Bobby Allyn reports that Cosby showed up for the proceedings4 at the courthouse in Elkins Park Pennsylvania. “Cosby walked slowly into the courtroom with a cane5, wearing a grey hood6 sweater and black sweatpants. As television helicopters flew above and reporters yelled questions at him, he ignored all of them. He had given up his passport and he is out on bail until his next hearing in two weeks. The charges come shortly before a Pennsylvania's twelve years statue of limitation on felony sex crimes would have run out.” Cosby's attorney Monique Pressley says the defense7 team was not surprised by the charges and that with a vigorous defense, Cosby will be exonerated8.

The flood water in Missouri have reached historic levels. Saint Louise public radio's Jason Rosamond in B reports at least 14 people have died. Speaking with local officials outside of Saint Louise, Missouri governor Jay Nixon says most of the deaths occurred when people try to drive in flood water. He
noted15 that he flood waters are so strong. They were able to knock a train off the rails in northwest Missouri. So I think a car can be floated over. I just watched that train be taken off the tracks and
literally16 knocked over. Franklin County presiding
commissioner17 John Griesheimer says he has never seen flooding in his county this bad, even during the great flood of 1993. 'We're just hoping that people you know be
vigilant18 and try to pull their lives back together.' Nixon has
activated19 the national guard to assist emergency response effort throughout the state.' For NPR news, I'm Jason Rosamond in St Louise.

deploying24 more campaign staffers in coming weeks. In an interview that airs on NPR's
Mooring25 Addition tomorrow, Bush says he's in the race to stay. I don't think I cannot win any of them because we organize in every state. Bush has been struggling in polls behind Donald
Trump26,

The US Attorney's Office will not
prosecute27 two veteran's affairs executives accused of
corruption28. NPR's Quil Lawrence has more. The VA's own inspected general first to attention to allegations that two senior executives had built the VA out of about 400,000 dollars in relocation fees when they change jobs. Critics in congress called that another example of VA corruption. But VA deputy secretary Sloan Gibson told a recent house hearing the charges were never supported by evidence. '
Investigations29 get launched and media gets contact in their stories and at that point the individual becomes guilty until proved innocent.' Now the US Attorney general agrees and will not proceed criminal charges against the two VA executives. VA says the two should be demoted for errors in judgement not criminally charged.
