 时间是抽象的空间，空间是具体的时间。在经纬的绚烂交织中，我们用尽一生，解读时空。

　　Time, 这个词够亲密，是因为它是英语里最常用的名词之一，你有它吗?
　　Do you have time? 你有空吗?
　　Do you have the time? 几点了?
　　以上两个句子的区别在哪里?一个the的有无，句子瞬间变换了时空。
　　quality time 是“用心和你在一起的时间”，这个词在汉语里没有对应表达，而在英语文化里，人们很重视quality time。如果我们约会的时候，你老看手机，如果我们碰杯的时候，你不看我的眼睛，这就不是quality time。社会学家说，如果夫妻每日没有半小时以上的quality time, 就要警惕分离。
　　me time 是“留给自己的时间”，这也是西方比较流行的表达。再忙都要记得，要有自己的时间，让心灵沉静，让身体放松。瑜伽中有静坐和冥想，就是很好的me time. 你每天给自己多少metime? 看看英语time这个词的书写，里面清楚隐含着me, 在流光的奔走中，你还会忽略自己吗?
　　waste time 是“白花时间” ：Don’t waste time arguing with your wife because women are alwaysright. 别白花时间和老婆吵架，因为女人总是对的。中国人常说“男左女右”，终于明白个中原委：女人总是对的right， right=右边.
　　kill time是“消磨时间”，如果你在排队等候上车，或者你在坐飞机，时间还是需要消磨的：Sheread a JOYY English brochure to kill time during the long flight to Melbourne. 她在去墨尔本的飞机上，阅读简欧英语的小册子以消磨时光。 简欧英语的小册子雅俗共赏，是消磨时间的上品。 Killtime是中性词neutral，而waste time则是贬义negative。
　　garbage time是“垃圾时间” ： We left the stadium when the football match went into garbagetime. 足球赛最后没有任何悬念了，我们就离开了现场。
　　last time “上次”， next time “下次”，这两个表达虽然简单，使用的时候有时态的快捷转换：The last time I went to Europe, I visited Italy. Next time I will go to France. 上次去欧洲看了意大利，下次就去法国。
　　in time是“及时”, 是提前到达。而 on time则是“准时”，卡着点到。
　　out of time是“没时间了”，前面要用run这个词，表达节奏的紧促：Hurry up, we are running outof time. 快点，我们没时间了!run还用在这样的句子中：Sorry, I am running late. 抱歉，我要迟到了。
　　time capsule这个词我在教学中，同学们难以猜出它的意思。外国人喜欢把东西放在箱子里密封，埋在地下，等多年后的子孙挖掘出来，可以借此考古。真是体谅人的做法啊!今天晓梅造了一个很棒的句子：The museum is a time capsule. 博物馆是观览古代文明的家园。Capsule在这里意为“容器”，它常常在生活里指“胶囊”， 而对应的“片剂”是tablet, “丸剂”是pill. 安眠药叫sleeping pill, 事后避孕药叫morning-after pill.
　　time travel: 穿越时空隧道: The kids used a large box as a pretend time machine that enabledthem to time travel. 孩子们用一个大箱子当做时光机，以此穿越时空。
