The Tony Awards are regarded as the highest US stage honour and are the theatre equivalent to the Oscars. The UK has similar awards known as the Laurence Olivier Awards. The Mask of Zorro actress won the coveted1 award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, for her portrayal2 of Desiree Armfeldt in the revival3 of the 1973 musical A Little Night Music. Catherine, who won an Oscar in 2003 for her performance in the film musical Chicago, was overjoyed at her win and said to the 3,000 plus crowd, "I can't believe it!" On stage she dazzled in a blue Versace gown and thanked her movie star husband of ten years, Michael Douglas.
