With one of the world's highest inflation rates, subsidised goods like rice, milk, and cornflour are being snatched from the shelves and smuggled² abroad for profit. It's one way that people can earn prized foreign cash which won't lose value like the local bolívar currently is. 

 

译文：但其他人认为，正是扭曲的体系不可避免导致了物资短缺。这个国家的通货膨胀率之高在世界也是屈指可数的，政府补贴物品包括粮食、牛奶和玉米淀粉一上架就被哄抢一空，被人们走私到国外赚取利润。这是人们获得有价值的国外现金的一种途径，它不像本地的委内瑞拉银币说贬值就贬值。
