❤ 模仿文本：Rousseau's new passion for Italian music is important. A grand dispute between French and Italian style was brewing¹. Back in Paris, Rousseau continued work on his very French style opera Les Muses² Galantes and sought the opinion of the alpha male French composer Rameau. 

 

Rameau was discouraging. He declared the music to be partly the work of an inspired melodist and partly that of a musical ignoramus, adding later that the only good bits were clearly so Italianate that Rousseau couldn't possibly have written them.

 

❤ 译文：卢梭对于意式音乐燃起的崭新热情是（他职业生涯中的）重要一笔。法式和意式风格之间的交锋正在酝酿之中。在巴黎，卢梭继续着他法式歌剧《风流诗神》的创作，并寻求了当时顶尖的法国作曲家拉莫的建议。

 

拉莫给出的评价不如人意。他说卢梭的作品部分源自灵感迸发，部分则像是出自一个音乐白痴之手。他还说唯一的可取之处是曲中意式的部分，由于是意式所以不可能是由卢梭所作。
