国际高档美妆品牌在华降价抢市场

　　近日，作为对消费税下调的响应，雅诗兰黛和爱茉莉太平洋等高档化妆品牌纷纷宣布在新的一年里在中国市场降价。

　　The South Korean beauty company Amorepacific said last Tuesday that the suggested retail² prices of 327 items under its four major brands will be slashed³ by anywhere between 3-30% starting from Jan 15.

　　韩国化妆品公司爱茉莉太平洋上周二表示，自本月15日起，该公司旗下4大品牌的327个单品的建议零售价将下调3-30%。

　　Meanwhile, the US cosmetics⁴ manufacturer Estee Lauder has also announced it will lower the retail prices of a few make-up and perfume products by 7% to 18% starting from Jan 15.

　　与此同时，美国化妆品制造商雅诗兰黛也宣布，自本月15日起将部分彩妆和香氛产品的零售价下调7-18%。

　　The Ministry⁵ of Finance says China has eliminated consumption taxes on ordinary cosmetics and will only levy⁶ the tax on high-end products. The tax rate has also been lowered to 15%.

　　财政部称，我国已取消了普通化妆品的消费税，仅对高档化妆品征收消费税且其税率已降至15%。

　　An industry insider says in addition to the tax reduction, the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce and overseas purchasing services in China have also pushed international brands to adjust prices in the country.

　　业内人士称，除了减税，我国跨境电商和海外代购服务的迅猛发展也对国际品牌在华调价起到了推波助澜的作用。

　　A recent report released by Changjiang Securities, a securities firm based in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, suggests the contraction⁷ in high-end cosmetics market in China as a result of slowed consumption growth has boosted markets for more affordable⁸ products and forced luxury brands to lower prices in the country.

　　长江证券--一家位于中国中部城市武汉的证券公司，近日发布一项报告称，中国高端化妆品市场有所萎缩。这是由于消费增长的放缓使得市场增加了更实惠的产品，并迫使奢侈品牌在国内降价。
