　　Ancient art often showed all figures on the same plane, varying in size by symbolic¹ importance. Classical Greek and Roman artists realized they could make objects seen further by drawing them smaller, but many early attempts at perspective were inconsistent or incorrect.

　　古代的艺术经常会将所有的图像显示在同个平面上，并根据其象征的重要性来变化图像的大小。古希腊和古罗马的艺术家发现，若将物体画小一点，可以让他们在画面上看起来较远。但早期很多采用这种透视画法的作品要不就是画得不一致、不然就是画得不正确。
