Eight candidates for FBI director have been interviewed at Justice Department headquarters as President Donald Trump1 searches for James Comey's replacement2. Trump told reporters he could make his decision public before leaving for the Middle East and Europe on Friday.

Emmanuel Macron was inaugurated as the new President of France on Sunday in Paris. The 39-year-old immediately launched into his mission to shake up French politics, world economics and the European Union.

A group of Venezuela's opposition3 members staged a demonstration4 outside the headquarters of the National Guard in Caracas, protesting what they say is repression5 by authorities. Protesters held banners and chanted as they gathered outside the National Guard building.

Russian state television showed President Vladimir Putin playing the piano in Beijing. Putin was waiting to hold bilateral6 talks with Chinese leader Xi Jin ping on Sunday.
