　　Vampires¹ were describe as bloated with overgrown teeth and nails. This gave rise to many rituals intended to prevent the dead from rising, such as burying bodies with garlic or poppyseeds, as well as having them staked, burned, or mutilated.

　　吸血鬼被描述成是身材臃肿，而且有着很长的獠牙和很长的指甲。这样的传闻导致之后出现了各式用来防止死人复活的仪式：像是用大蒜或罂粟籽来埋葬尸体，还有就是用木桩叉尸体、把尸体烧毁、或支解尸体。
