Well, some people might want to read things on
finance1 for
Memorial2 Day weekend. But gas prices has bring you a trip a quarter, treble A actually
calculate3 how much your trip cost you. If you want to find out, you can load onto fuelcostcalculator.com and enter your destinations. So if you driving across the country in GMC YUKON that’s gonna cost you more than 12,000 dollars in gas. You could cut cost for that same round trip in just 362 dollars if you driving a Toyota PRIUS or find a plane for that matter. NPC Stephanie Stanton is in Burbank
California4, so Stephanie, how much would you talking, uh, for gas on west coast.
Well, the gas on the west coast, we are not the highest in the nation which are a kind of
shocking5 for a
series6 for we always used to be the most expensive. That are the *** by the food prices here is still high, in fact equal to triplicate the average price. State wide for a
gallon7 unleaded is $3.4 a gallon. Here to talk more about holiday travel, gas prices. How all of these affecting votes. Here’s Jeff Spring. He is spokesperson with Treble A here. He is in Southern California. Jeff, we have about to come up to the busiest summer driving season in this weekend in fact, right?
That’s right. The Treble A nationally announced about 3.3 million people becoming rolled traveling about 50 miles more this weekend and that’s about 1.7% increase of last year.
And is that going, though, I mean, is I find it almost hard to claim we have a increase. Although it is small, but is this a increase? Is that a point which drivers start with a hundred
gallons8 stay back?
Well, we say it’s a small increase. What we find is that people go to travel, and travel closer to home, so they’re, they’re making changes. So many go on the trips, but making changes, traveling closer to home and, and making a shorter trips.
OK, I’d like to guess it would be an individual thing.
Oh, yes, this is an individual choice as what you do and when you make changes compares to the gas prices. I said making changes when you get 50 gallon in California, I saw a car blow more, I said making changes of my energies, something like that. So this is an individual choice and we’ll see that price point come to different people, different time.
And what about California? I mean, you know, we’re always used to the highest price in the nation. I mean, a lot of rose really have no choice because the public
transportation9 here I say no is not likely in places like New York. So what about California? I mean, how are people
poking10 on this and, you know, we’ve got a break now because Chicago has now got the highest price, but do expect to back at the top soon.
Well, I don’t think people here in California concern much about bring it home. We’ve got highest gas prices for such a long time.
Yeah.
There are things individual
motors11 can do, so to reduce their, their driving cablets. And so what we want to do is to increase people to, like to take the way out of the car to reduce, reduce using the cars***when my real driving happens, don’t take off driving starts of stop lights, don’t make those hard stops communicating to stop lights. All of these kinds of things are wasting
gasoline12.
Absolutely.
Uh, don't, don’t do, uh, fast driving on freeway, just bring it back five miles a hour, that would help you reduce your gasoline.
Interesting. Jeff Spring, thank you so much. You did advise something that I didn’t know, so that’s a kind of interesting. Thank you very much. We appreciate you joining us. And with that Amy, we’re gonna send it back to you.
All right Stephanie. Thank you.
