Chinese Kungfu actor Wu Jing, who has grabbed increasing fame and public attention for Wolf Warriors1 2, is going to show up in a new film, directed by famous comedian2 Guo Degang.

Wu attended a promotional event Monday afternoon in Beijing for Guo's directorial debut3 The Faces of My Gene4.

"Casting in a comedy film, I hoped to relax from the sweaty efforts involved in making an action film. Within the three days I spent in the shooting team, I watched with amusement their consecutive5 crosstalk shows."

The story centers on a talented author who is held back by his ugly looks, and hides his affection towards a beautiful girl.

The author travels back in time and meets his ancestors in different generations.

The film is scheduled to hit Chinese theatres on the first day of the Lunar New Year.
