A couple have reunited with their missing daughter on Tuesday following a 24-year long search.

Xinhua News Agency reports that Wang Mingqing's 3-year-old daughter disappeared near the family's fruit stand in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on January 8, 1994, while Wang and his wife were busy at dealing1 with customers.

To aid in their continuing search, in 2014, Wang became a driver for a ride-sharing company in Chengdu, with the hope of branching out his search.

Wang would tell his story to his passengers, handing out cards with his daughter's information, hoping to get the message out.

The story eventually went national in 2017. Lin Yuhui, a forensic2 artist in Shandong Province, created two sketches3 of Wang Mingqing's missing daughter in 2017 after he heard of Wang's story.

A girl living in the northeastern province of Jilin eventually made contact with Wang Mingqing, after noting the sketches "surprisingly" resembled her.

A DNA4 test on April 1, 2018, confirmed that she is Wang's daughter.
