 一个英语单词可分为三部分：前缀（prefix）词根（root）后缀（suffix）。位于词根前面的部分就是前缀。前缀，可以改变单词的意思。

— pre- “前面，预先” —
precede = pre + ced（走）+ e → 走在前面 → v. 在…之前，先于
predict = pre + dict（说）→ vt. 预言，预测
preface = pre + fac（脸）+ e → n. 序言，前言
preface = pre + fac（脸）+ e → v. 作序
prejudice = pre + jud（判断）+ ice（表行为）→ 预先判断 → vt. 偏见 
preposition = pre + position（地点，位置）→ 介词通常加在方位词之前 → n. 介词

pretend = pre + tend（趋势）→ 预先有了趋势 → vt. 假装
