Authorities in Jacksonville, Florida say a gunman took his own life after killing1 two people at a video game tournament. Nine people were shot and wounded and two more were hurt as crowds tried to flee.

The Jacksonville sheriff says authorities believed the gunman was a 24-year-old gamer, named David Katz. Katz was from Baltimore. FBI agents there are helping2 in the investigation3.

Pope Francis declined to comment on a document that claims he knew about sexual misconduct allegations against Washington's former Archbishop. The claims come from the former Vatican ambassador to the US.

Memorial services for Senator John Maccin are being planned in Phoenix4, Washington and Annapolis, Maryland. The long-time republican senator from Arizona died on Saturday at the age of 81.
