In our program today, we'll talk about tension¹ headaches.

Most headaches are tension headaches.

These headaches tend to happen again and again, especially if you're under stress.

They're not usually a sign of something serious, but they can last from 30 minutes to 7 days.

Things such as stress, hunger, and even a change of weather can lead to a tension headache.

Most people treat their tension headaches with pain medicine.

But be cautious². If you take the medicine more than three times a week, you may get a rebound³ headache, which is far more severe than tension headaches.

Rebound headaches start whenever you stop taking the medicine.

More importantly, try using a headache diary.

Each time you get a headache, write down the date, the time, and what you were doing and feeling before your headache started.

This may help you and your doctor find out the cause and then plan your treatment.
