You are the third foolish person who has said that to me today! Who are you, and what do you want? 你是今天第三个对我说这句话的蠢人！你是谁，你想要怎么样？

Fairy. In good time you shall learn who I am. I am here because you need me. I have a Christmas gift for you. 仙女：时候到了，你自然会知道我是谁。我来这，是因为你需要我。我有一份圣诞礼物要给你。

Scrooge. Christmas gift? Humbug¹! I am rich. I need no gifts. I take nothing, and I give nothing. 斯克鲁奇：圣诞礼物？骗人！我很富有，不需要礼物。我什么也不要，什么也不送。

Fairy. And so you have nothing! You are rich, but what good does your money do? Does it make you happy? Does it make anyone else happy? 仙女：所以，你什么都没有！你很有钱，但是你的钱有什么用？它能让你快乐吗？它能让其他人快乐吗？

Do you help anyone with it? Your clerk, Bob Cratchit, is very poor. He works² hard for you, but you pay him as little as you can. 你用它帮过别人吗？你的职员鲍勃·克拉特基特生活穷困，他卖力工作，但你给他的薪水却少得可怜。

He needs help. You are rich. Will you help him? 他需要帮助。你很有钱，你愿意帮助他吗？

 Bob Cratchit! Bob Cratchit! You are as foolish as my nephew. And Bob Cratchit is foolish, too. 斯克鲁奇：

 鲍勃·克拉特基特！鲍勃·克拉特基特！你和我侄子一样愚蠢。鲍勃·克拉特基特也很愚蠢。 

He wished me a Merry Christmas today! Merry Christmas, indeed! He hasn’t a sixpence to make merry with! 他今天祝我圣诞快乐！真是圣诞快乐！他连能快乐的六便士都没有！

Fairy. Bob Cratchit has something better than six- pences. He has something that all your money cannot buy. 仙女：鲍勃·克拉特基特拥有比六便士更好的东西，他拥有你所有的钱都买不到的东西。

But he needs help. Will you help him? His son, Tiny Tim, is ill and lame³. If you help him, he can get strong and well. Will you help him? 但他需要帮助，你愿意帮助他吗？他的儿子小提姆病了，脚瘸了。如果你帮助他，小提姆就会变得强壮健康。你愿意帮助他吗？

Scrooge. I help nobody. Let Bob Cratchit help himself. That is what I do. If he has something better than sixpences, let him use it, I say. 斯克鲁奇：我不帮助任何人，让鲍勃·克拉特基特自救吧。我就这么做。我要说的是，如果他拥有比六便士更好的东西，就让他用那东西吧。

Fairy. Yes, Bob Cratchit has something better than sixpences. He has a kind and loving heart. But your heart is hard, Ebenezer Scrooge. 仙女：是的，鲍勃·克拉特基特拥有比六便士更好的东西。他善良、充满爱心。但是你却是铁石心肠，埃比尼泽·斯克鲁奇。

You have no friends. You help nobody. You never say a kind word. You are cross and stingy. 你没有朋友，不帮助任何人，从不说一句好话。你是个吝啬鬼。
