The search is on for more dead and injured after a powerful tornado1 struck Lee County in eastern Alabama. The tornado killed at least 23 people and cut a track of destruction a half a mile wide.

South Korea's President says he wants to restart the US-North Korean nuclear talks. President Moon Jae-in said there were important achievements during last week's summit, despite its abrupt2 ending.

The US closed its consulate3 in Jerusalem, folding it into the US Embassy there. The consulate had served as the main US diplomatic mission to the Palestinians for decades.

And a winter storm is bringing heavy snow to the northeastern US. A state of emergency was declared in New Jersey4. While New York City could get up to 8 inches of snow.
