The Veterans Affairs Department now says Air Force reservists who got sick after being exposed to Agent Orange should be eligible¹ for disability benefits.

The about-face in policy would cover more than 2,000 personnel who flew or worked on aircraft that sprayed the herbicide during the Vietnam War.

If the White House Office of Management and Budget approves the change,it would be the first time the VA established a special category of Agent Orange exposure for military personnel without “boots on the ground” in Vietnam.
