Opponents of the FCC's decision say consumers could pay more, as internet service providers gain the power to speed up or slow down traffic to certain online content.

Commissioner¹ Mingon Clyburn wanted to keep net neutrality in place: "I don't know whether this plan will be vacated by a court, reversed by Congress, or overturned by a future commission."

Commissioner Michael O'Rielly argued the FCC is simply reverting² back to way the internet ran two years ago: "This decision will not break the internet."

After a security scare, the FCC voted along partly lines to end net neutrality.
