There's been a crackdown on waste imports in recent months, with more than two thousand shipping containers intercepted⁶ in Indonesia. The country is one of the world's worst contributors to plastic pollution in the oceans. Despite this, thousands of tonnes of plastic waste is imported into Indonesia each year for recycling.
