大家想想，中国，日本，缅甸，越南，等等国家都是以－ese结尾，但凡欧美的强国多以-an结尾，如果说纯属偶然，鬼都不信！这其实反应了当时“日不落帝国”的霸主和蔑视弱小国家的心态，是有据可查的，我读过一篇专门研究这个问题的文章！

但是也有人认为这和国家强弱没有任何关系，只是出于跟国家名称最后的字母搭配的需要才选用-ese或-an的，大家可以看看下面的博客内容，我反正是坚持第一种观点的！

其实，对中国人的真正的蔑称（derogative¹ term）是“Chinks或Chinkies”(相当于蔑称“中国佬”),（Chink is an offensive term for a person of Chinese ）如果老外当你的面称呼你为“Chinks/Chinkies”,你就是骂他祖宗也不为过！就像我们不能当着日本人的面说人家是"Japs"(日本鬼)。

关于“Chinky”这个蔑称的来历，以下的脚注给出了最好的解释：原来“chinkies (sometimes known as a chinky chonky”是英国人对中国人开的外卖餐馆或人们买的外卖的称呼，是对中国人和东方人(orientals)的一种“种族诽谤”（ethnic² slur³).

The name "chinkies" is the plural⁴ and adjectival form of chink, and like chink was originally an ethnic slur for Chinese and other oriental people.[2]
