South Australia has again been battered3 by wild weather. Winds up to 100 kilometres an hour hit parts of Melbourne overnight. The SES was called to a house in Bayswater after a tree fell on a garage. In Adelaide, black ice on the roads proved treacherous4 for cars and trucks. 
 
 
 
Investigations5 are continuing into the cause of a fire in a Sydney apartment block. One woman died when she jumped from a burning unit on the sixth floor. Another woman who jumped remains6 in hospital in a serious condition.
