 　　ANKARA, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Turkey on Thursday strongly condemned1 a deadly car bombing which rocked southern suburbs of Lebanese capital of Beirut earlier in the day and left at least 17 people dead and 212 others injured.

　　In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry2 described the deadly attack as a "terrorist act," extending condolences to the Lebanese people.
　　It also called on Lebanese authorities to immediately arrest the perpetrators of the attack and bring them to justice.
　　Noting the region is going through a sensitive period, Ankara said it believes the Lebanese people will act with restraint and common sense in the face of the attack, adding Turkey will continue its support to Lebanon, according to the statement.
