I'll never sell it." His sidewalk stand was next to his van. A sign said, "We sell old stuff only." Under an awning² were cardboard boxes. They contained hundreds of old maps. "I've done this forever, but now it's ending," he said. "I can't afford gas for my van. I can't afford my rent in Brooklyn. A friend of mine lives in Vermont. She said I could stay with her for a while. So I'm moving up there when summer ends. I'll be starting a new life at the age of 65! Life's something else, isn't it? You just never know. You never know where it'll take you. You never know how it'll end."
