　　你不久就会习惯的

　　An man died² and left his son a lot of money. But the son was³ a foolish⁴ young man, and he quickly spent all the money, so that soon he had⁵ nothing left.

　　一个人死了，留给他儿子一大笔钱。可是他儿子是个愚蠢的年轻人，他很快就花光了所有的钱，不久后就一文不名了。

　　Of course⁶, when that happened, all his friends left him. When he was quite poor and alone⁷, he went to see a kind, clever old man and often helped people when they had troubles⁸.

　　当然，在这种时候，他所有的朋友都离开了他。在他又穷又孤独的时候，他去见了一位常帮人脱困的慈祥又智慧的老者。

　　"My money has finished⁹ and my friends have gone," said¹⁰ the youna man. "What will happen to me now?"

　　“我没钱了，我的朋友们也都跑了，”年轻人说，“我还能怎么样？”

　　"Don't worry, young man," answered the old man. "Everything will soon be all right again. Wait, and you will soon feel much happier."

　　“别担心，年轻人”，老者答道，“一切都会好起来的，等着瞧吧，不久后你就会再快乐起来的。”

　　The young man was very glad. "Am I going¹¹ to get rich again then?" he asked the old man.

　　“年轻人听了很高兴。那么，我又会有钱了吗？”他问老者。

　　"No, I didn't mean that," said the old man. "I mean that you would¹² soon get used to being¹³ poor and to having no friends."

　　“不是的，我不是那个意思，”老者说，“我的意思是你不久后就会习惯于没钱和没朋友的日子了。”

　　重点讲解：

　　1. all right

　　令人满意的；可接受的；不错的；

　　eg. It sounds quite all right.

　　这听上去挺不错的。

　　eg. Any time is all right.

　　什么时间都行。

　　eg. We checked up and found¹⁴ that everything was all right.

　　我们检查了一下，发现一切正常。

　　2. get used to sth./doing sth.

　　开始习惯于某事；

　　eg. This is how we do things here. You'll soon get used to it...

　　我们这里就是这么做事的。你很快就会习惯的。

　　eg. You quickly get used to using the brakes¹⁵.

　　你很快就会习惯使用刹车的。

　　eg. I was brought¹⁶ up in Pairs so it took¹⁷ a long time to get used to living¹⁸ in London.

　　我在巴黎长大，所以需要很长时间来适应伦敦生活。
