　　I have to toddle¹ off and go back to work now.

　　我必须回去工作了。

　　toddle是形容小孩子蹒跚学步、东倒西歪地走，而toddle off在口语中则是：“出发，动身，暂时离开”的意思。因此，当美国人说"I have to toddle off and go back to work now."时，他/她要表达的意思就是:"I have to leave and go back to work now."、"I couldn't stay here any longer because I have to go back to work."。
