Real estate curbs1 in China are starting to ease at the local level. Housing authorities in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous2 Region, say residents from other cities in Guangxi will enjoy the same rights as Nanning residents to purchase homes.
The policy will cover residents from five cities in the Guangxi Beibu Gulf3 Economic Zone.
Analysts4 note that much land and investment are concentrated in Nanning, and the situation may intensify5 as high-speed railway construction in the area finishes up.
The new regulation took effect four days ago, ending a ban that was in place since 2011.
