　　Excuse me. There's a little bit of echoes why I have trouble speaking

　　They stood up for wars that were wrong and protest it

　　I remember groups coming down sheded breaking every window

　　Tear gas. We smelled tear gas

　　催泪瓦斯 我们闻到了催泪瓦斯

　　We collected rubber bullets when I was here

　　我在这儿的时候我们收集了橡皮子弹

　　It was a hard time to remember

　　那段日子确实很艰难

　　But there were a lot of people standing¹ up for something that was right

　　但是有很多的人去捍卫正确的东西

　　And for fair treatment as well

　　也去争取公平对待

　　Intellectuals stand up and say people should have certain rights that how they are gonna be accused of something

　　知识分子奋起呼吁 人们应该拥有某些权利 比如他们被指控的方式

　　What does it mean?

　　Innocent until proven guilty

　　证据不足不能定罪

　　The burden of proof is on the accuser We often forget that sort of stuff We challenged the war

　　谁指控 谁举证 我们经常忘记这类东西 我们向战争发起挑战

　　That was very wrong back in the Vietnam War And the faith that was going around with us: make love, not war

　　当年的越南战争是非常错误的 当时伴随我们的信念是 要做爱 不要战争

　　And I took that into my heart and became a pacifist as a result Berkeley of course was the best time of my life

　　It was the best friends I hope you hear from somewhere, John It was of the best experiences, the most exciting time

　　You got the freedom in your life to explore, to be curious, to learn things whatever you wanna do to set your own directions and make choices
