Each year, 30,000 mechanics, barbers and welders5 are trained by the massive Shandong Lanxiang Vocational School, whose overadvertised slogan “Meet the king of (excavator maneuver), find Lanxiang in China Shandong” was turned into a popular internet catchphrase.
