Chinese Premier1 Li Keqiang is urging auditing2 authorities to be more strict when overseeing the use of public funds, and safeguard the interests of the public.

He says audit3 authorities must wield4 their power righteously and they should not allow public funds to remain idle on the books, nor should they turn the other cheek to corruption5.

When meeting with prominent auditing personnel from across the country, the Chinese premier also urged auditors6 to keep an eye out for violations7 and the misuse8 of public funds.

China's top political advisor9 Yu Zhengsheng has met with Vietnamese officials in Hanoi and vowed10 to promote bilateral11 ties.

Yu is in Hanoi for a three-day visit to enhance mutual12 trust and build consensus13.

He called on both sides to implement14 the consensus reached between their leaders regarding maritime15 issues, and properly settle their differences.
