Indonesian officials have confirmed that bodies and wreckage1 found in the Java Sea are from the missing AirAsia flight.

Reports say six bodies have already been recovered from the sea.

Relatives of the passengers would be flown to Surabaya, where the identification process for the victims is to be carried out.

The plane's black boxes have yet to be found, but aviation experts say the recovery process should progress quickly, as the wreckage has been sighted in relatively2 shallow water.

It is not clear what caused the plane to crash. There were 162 people on board.

The UN Security Council has failed to adopt a Palestinian-drafted resolution urging the end of Israeli occupation by the end of 2017.

France, China and Russia were among 8 countries that supported the text setting a 12-month deadline for negotiations3 on a final peace deal with Israel.

The United States and Australia voted against. There were five abstentions.

The resolution, condemned4 by Israel as a "gimmick5", needed the support of at least nine members in order to pass.
