5、Until these issues are resolved, a technology of behavior will continue to be rejected, and with it possibly the only way to solve our problems.
【分析】
复合句。until引导时间状语从句，主句由and 连接的并列句组成。and后是一省略句，其难点在于确定代词it的指代内容。it经常指代前文的单数名词或不可数名词(词组），也经常指代前文的某件事情、某种情况。本句中的 it 指代 a technology of behavior will continue to be rejected这一情况。该句省略了与前句相同的成分，补充完整是and with it possibly the only way to solve our problems will continue to be rejected。 翻译时需把省略的成分译出。
【点拨】
1、until意为“直到”，直译是“在这些问题得到解决之前，技术将继续…”，但是这种说法不符合汉语的习惯，可以从反面进行表达，也就是正话反说：“如果这些 问题得不到解决，技术将…”。句首时间状语从句中的被动语态are resolved按照汉语习惯可以译为“得到解决”。2、technology of behavior要根据文章内容适当加词，译为“研究行为的技术手段”而不能直接译为“行为的技术手段”。
【译文】
（如果）这些问题得不到解决，研究行为的技术手段就会继续受到排斥，解决问题的唯一方式可能也随之继续受到排斥。
