A station, "station," is a place where you can get on and off the subway; that's called a subway station. 车站（station）是一个你上下地铁的地方；那叫做地铁站。

To get into the subway station, Lucy swipes her monthly¹ pass. 进地铁站，露西刷了月票。

To swipe, "swipe," means to take a card, such as a credit² card, and to put it through a machine very quickly 刷（swipe）的意思是拿一张卡，比如一张信用卡，然后很快地把它划过机器，

so that the machine can read or understand the information on the card. 这样机器就能读取或解读卡片上的信息。

In the subway system, Lucy has a monthly pass, "pass." 在地铁系统里，露西有一张月票（pass）。

A pass is like a ticket; it's a ticket for an entire month - for thirty days. 月票是一张票；这是一张可以用整整一个月的票——30天。

So, she swipes the card through the card reader, we would call it, and that card is her monthly pass. 所以，她在读卡器上刷卡，那张卡就是她的月票。
