 In this episode1, we are making dinner at the beginning, "When I get home, I start on dinner right away." 在这一节里，故事开头我们正在做晚饭，“当我回到家的时候，我立马开始准备晚饭。”

A counter is a general word that refers to the top of something, usually somewhere where youdo something on top of it. 柜台是指某物顶部的概括词，一般是你在它上面做某事的地方。
In this case, the kitchen counter is where you prepare food. 在这里，厨房柜台是你准备食物的地方。
