Can NGOs harm a country's economy? The Indian government thinks so, according to leaked documents that led to the freezing of Greenpeace's bank accounts in the country earlier this year. The freeze was temporarily lifted this week, but it highlights the problems that NGO's may face working in countries they criticise².
