Spring, the sweet Spring, is the year's pleasant king, Then blooms each thing ,

春，飘香的春，一年中欢乐的尧舜；

then maids dance in a ring, Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing:

看百花怒放，少女环舞， 春寒不袭人，小鸟展喉高唱。

Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo! The plam and may make country houses gay,

咕咕，咯咯，啾啾，哥哥插秧！ 棕榈和山楂，为农舍梳妆，

Lambs frisk and play, the shepherds pipe all day,

羊羔嬉闹奔跑，牧笛终日悠扬

And we hear aye birds tune¹ this merry lay: Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!

百鸟齐鸣，歌声谐婉四处飘荡， 咕咕，咯咯，啾啾，哥哥插秧！

The fields breathe sweet, the daisies kiss our feet, Young lovers meet, old wives a-sunning sit,

四野四围飘香，邹菊亲吻脚掌， 少男少女互诉衷肠，老妇坐嗮春阳

In every street, these tunes² our ears do greet: Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
