The glorification¹ of terrorism is not a crime -- that is the word from the European Parliament, which recently voted against a proposal calling on EU countries to change the definition of terrorist offenses³.  Civil liberties advocates claimed victory, criticizing Britain's 2006 Terrorist Act, which makes the indirect encouragement of others to commit acts of terrorism -- including the glorification of terrorism -- a criminal offense². The debate coincides with an emerging trend in the counter-terrorism community, to tackle the roots of radicalization and prevent would-be terrorists from being recruited. Nina-Maria Potts reports.
