A scientific review published in the Journal of American Medicine shows that the field of genetics has made a lot of progress in recent years.  According to JAMA, genetic1 testing is able to identify more than 1,000 human genes2 that can hold the keys to identifying risks of many diseases.  But as VOA's Melinda Smith reports, much of that information is not getting to patients.
