“Why are you crying?” he asked his Mom. “Because I'm a woman.” she told him. “I don't

understand,” he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, “And you never will...”

Later the little boy asked his father, “Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?”

“All women cry for no reason,” was all his Dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God; when God got on the phone, the man said, “God, why do

women cry so easily?” God said, “When I made woman she had to be special. I made her

shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world; yet gentle enough to give comfort. I

gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection¹ that many times comes from

her children. I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going, when everyone else gives up,

and to take care of her family through fatigue² and sickness without complaining. I gave her the

sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt

her very badly. I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her

from his rib³ to protect his heart. I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his

wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly . I

gave her a tear to shed. It's hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed. It's her only weakness.

It's a tear for mankind.”

呢？”上帝答道：“我造女人时，女人就必须特别一些。我使她的肩膀结实，能扛得起世界

的重负；但又使她足够温柔，能给人以安慰。我给她内在的力量，使她能够忍受分娩的痛

苦，能够忍受她孩子多少次的冷落厌弃。我给她刚毅，让她在每个人都放弃时依然坚持下

去，让她任劳任怨地持家，不顾疾病和劳苦。我给她敏感，让她无论在什么情况下都爱自

己的孩子，甚至在她的孩子深深伤害了她时也依然如此。我用男人的一根肋骨造了她，给

她力量，宽容丈夫的过失，帮他渡过难关，使他感受到温情。我给她智慧，让她知道，一

个好丈夫从不伤害妻子，但有时候会考验她的操守和意志力，看看她能否坚定地站在自己

身边。我给她泪水，需要时由她专用。这是她唯一的弱点。那是为人类而流的泪水。”
