可数名词和不可数名词的划分似乎很让人头疼，文化的差异也许可以解释这一点。因此，判断一个词是不是不可数名词，并不能纯粹地用“不可以一个个地单列出来”来判断。托托洛的建议是：死记硬背啦！其实也不能完全说是死记硬背，只要对一个词的掌握足够到位（也就是弄明白它到底是什么意思），就不难判断了。

Cake is my favorite. (不可数)
These cakes are delicious. (可数)
This factory produces steel.　(不可数)
We need various steels.　(可数)
Our country is famous for its tea. (不可数)
Two teas, please.(可数)
可以看出，当这些名词表达的是抽象的概念时，不可数，反之，可数。

fish是需要被单拎出来讲的词，因为它给大家造成了太多的困惑。
一般情况下它是不可数的: We caught several fish yesterday. 不要因为它可以一条条地数就把它当成可数名词了。
当它表示种类时，就可数了。比如：to catch a lot of fishes（各种各样的鱼）

要表达不可数名词的“份、个”时，需要借助一定的方式，而这些方式是固定的：
a bar of chocolate/soap
a bowl of rice
a bottle of wine
a box of candy
a cup of tea/water
a head of cattle
a piece of bread/news/paper/meat
而他们的复数形式，则是体现在量词的变化上。如 30 heads of cattle
