There was a young theater student who was barely scraping by working as a waitress in restaurants. She had applied³ for many scholarships but was denied every time. She had great hopes of becoming a great actress playing on the big screen, but at the time she could scarcely make a living, she had to scratch and scrape for every scrap² of food that she had. She had prepared her parasol and fan as the script designated. The scenery was lush, as expected for summer. When the actor who played Ashley entered the stage, he was a gentleman and carried the scent²⁰ of a scholar. The actors acted so well, especially the young woman, and the stage was so scenic²¹ that the talent scout¹³ felt he had a real scoop²² in getting this actress. Finally, the talent scout invited the young theater student to be an actress in an upcoming Hollywood movie.
