Supreme1 Court nominee2 Brett Kavanaugh faced new questions by democrats3 Thursday about comments he made regarding the high court's decision on Roe4 V. Wade5. A newly disclosed e-mail suggests Kavanaugh once indicated the abortion6 case was not settled law. Kavanaugh reiterated7 his previous testimony8 that "Roe V. Wade is an important precedent9" of Supreme Court.

A day after an anonymous10 op-ed appeared in the New York Times, top officials in the Trump11 administration scrambled12 to deny being the author. A parade of cabinet-level officials called the writer a disloyal coward acting13 against the nation's best interests. Vice14 President Mike Pence calls for the author's resignation.

And finally, American actor Burt Reynolds has died at the age of 82. Reynolds, best-known for his role in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Deliverance", was living in Florida and had health issues. A cause of death has not been confirmed.
